Godmother

1.5 oz vodka
.75 oz amaretto

Pour over ice into an old fashioned glass.

I like this drink more than I was expecting. Amaretto has always been too sweet and syrupy for me. By cutting it with a double-dose of vodka the sweetness and syrupyness mellow out and the natural nutty flavor comes through. Pretty good. Shannon says it tastes like cough syrup, but she could sip it more or less happily.

Handball Cooler

1.5 oz. Vodka
Club Soda
Orange Juice

Pour the vodka over ice into a highball glass. Fill almost to the top with club soda. Top with orange juice. Shannon really likes this drink. She pronounced it chuggable, in a good way. I thought it was ok. It tastes a little like orangina.

Blue Lagoon

1 oz. vodka
1 oz. blue curacao
Lemonade

Since we have so much vodka around the house, we decided to restart the project in the vodka chapter. To make the blue lagoon you pour the first two ingredients over ice into a highball glass and then fill with lemonade. Not having a proper highball glass, it was necessary for me to estimate the amount of lemonade to add.

When I first tried the drink I thought it was way too sweet. Now I just think it is a little too sweet, but rather quaffable. Shannon says she loves it. It reminds her of college. I'm not sure that "reminds me of college" would be a vote of confidence in a mixed drink, but that's just me.

Um...... sorry

So we haven't exactly blogged much recently. Sorry about that. Between the move and the new job and all that it just kinda sorta slipped through the cracks. We are planning on doing some more blogging though and making some changes, so stay tuned.
